APC Dumped Bola Tinubu, Picked Osinbajo/Malami Ticket For 2023

The Editor Nigeria reports that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has reportedly concluded plans to field Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and AGF Abubakar Malami as it’s President and VP candidate for the 2023 election.

This was made known by a chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, and National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, Olusegun Bamgbose, on Friday.

He stated that the ruling party, through its cabal, has decided not to give it’s 2023 presidential ticket to its national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu .

He warned that a government headed by Osinbajo would worsen Nigeria’s economic and political situation, adding that it would be an extension of President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.

“Giving him [Tinubu] the APC ticket will certainly alter the status quo which commenced with Obasanjo’s administration, in terms of religion,” he told Daily Post.

“He Obasanjo as a Christian had Atiku, a Muslim as his running mate. Its widely accepted that Buhari being a Muslim should ordinarily be succeeded by a Christian President.

“Secondly and the most pronounced reason why Tinubu has been ruled out is that in the history of politics in Nigeria, there has never been a time that a Northern Christian represented the interest of the North as per Presidency

.”He stated that the north would not want to change status quo because of Ashiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to him, Osinbajo/Malami ticket has been endorsed by the power brokers in APC.

“However, the endorsement is meant to extend Buhari’s tenure by proxy. Osinbajo won’t be allowed to create any meaningful impact as President and will always be remotely controlled by some cabals in the government,” he added.

“He will always pay homage to Buhari and the cabals in anything he does. Professor Osinbajo has not been so useful as Vice President, he has not been able to secure the release of Leah Shuaib to date, the rest of the students of Bethel Baptist students are still in the den of the abductors.

“One would have expected him to ensure their releases but he has been mute to the delight of the cabals and Presidency, who are seeing him as an obedient servant. He has failed to behave like biblical Esther who rescued her people from destruction even at the risk of her being killed by the king.”

Bamgbose stated that questions Nigerians need to ask themselves is if Osinbajo who did not perform as VP would perform as President.

“The APC has also considered the enormous influence of Pastor Adeboye before zeroing down on Osinbajo. The choice of Malami is strategic. He is almost the leader of the cabals at the Presidency and will be in a position to effectively checkmate Osinbajo if their plans work out,” he said.

The lawyer warned Nigerian to beware of APC’s plan to further worsen the economic and political situation of this country.

He claimed that the situation under Osinbajo will be worse because he won’t be allowed to be effective just as Garba Shehu, has on several occasions took over his responsibilities.
