Adelabu’s Aide Speaks On Former Minister Being Disqualified From Oyo Governorship Race

An aide to All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Bayo Adelabu, has said reports that the former Minister of Power has been disqualified from the party’s governorship primary are not true.

Naija News reports that the aide, Comrade Femi Awogboro, said Adelabu remains in the race and has not been stopped from taking part in the exercise scheduled in the state.

He said the information being shared about disqualification did not come from any official source of the party.

Awogboro described the reports as misleading and said they were being spread to cause doubt among supporters of the aspirant and members of the public.

He added that the aim was to weaken support for Adelabu ahead of the primary election.

Awogboro called on party members, supporters, and residents of Oyo State to ignore the claim and focus on the party’s process. According to him, opponents are only trying to create confusion because they see Adelabu as a strong contender in the contest.

He said there is no reason for the party at any level to remove Adelabu from the race, pointing out that his record in both public service and private work speaks for him.

He added that Adelabu is still fully prepared for the primary election and remains confident of his chances as party members decide who will represent them in 2027.
