IGP Redeploys 56 Police Officers From Monitoring Unit Nationwide (Full List)

The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has approved the redeployment of dozens of senior officers from the Police Monitoring Unit in Abuja to various commands across the country.

This online medium reports that the redeployment was contained in an internal memo dated April 11, 2026, issued from the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

The directive was signed by Bode Akinbamilowo on behalf of the IGP.

According to the memo, a total of 56 Supernumerary Police Officers were demobilised from the Police Monitoring Unit and reassigned to new postings nationwide.

The directive was addressed to Deputy Inspectors-General, Assistant Inspectors-General, Commissioners of Police, and heads of formations and training institutions.

The affected officers, ranging from Chief Superintendents of Police to Assistant Superintendents of Police, have been posted to commands including the Federal Capital Territory, Lagos, Rivers, Kogi, Nasarawa, Niger, and Benue states.

Agha, PMU to ZN.7; 139844 CSP Mohammed Abdulkareem, PMU to FCT; 140103 CSP Oriarewo Emmanuel, PMU to FCT; 96885 CSP Broadrick B. Obah, PMU to FCT; 145504 CSP Chime Chukwunonso, PMU to KGS; 111429 SP Isiaka Obisesan, PMU to NIPS; 93837 SP Abigail Patrick, PMU to NAS; 158647 SP Ogwu Gloria Ile, PMU to NGS; 158652 SP Payi Kenny, PMU to BNS; 107121 SP Sunday Charles A, PMU to KGS; 129283 SP Edwin A. This online medium further reports that the IGP warned that any officer who attempts to lobby the Inspector-General regarding their posting would face “severe disciplinary action.”

The memo further directed relevant departments and commands to ensure that the affected officers are promptly released to assume duty at their new postings.
