Benin Traditional Council Lied! – Queen Of Benin Kingdom Reacts Over Peller’s ‘Unauthorized’ Visit

Queen Ewaure of the Benin Kingdom has broken her silence following her suspension over the traditional council’s claims of an unauthorised visit by Nigerian TikToker, Peller.

This online medium recalls that the Benin council had criticised Peller’s visit, describing it as unauthorised and a breach of palace protocol.

The council also summoned Peller to appear before a committee of chiefs and warned that the Queen, who received Peller on behalf of the palace, could face removal from the palace.

However, Peller’s management in a statement shared via Instagram on Thursday clarified that the visit was properly initiated through official channels and was never intended to disrespect Benin culture.

According to the statement, Peller’s team, ahead of the visit, submitted a formal request to the palace, which was acknowledged, but was told that the Oba of Benin would not be available during the visit.

Similarly, in an Instagram post, the Queen confirmed that Peller’s visit to the Palace was officially authorised.

The Queen also shared a letter bearing an acknowledgement stamp from the Benin Traditional Council, stating that the controversy goes beyond Peller’s visit and that other issues happening behind closed doors are far bigger than what the public currently knows.

She wrote, “Hello everyone, the issues at hand isn’t just because peller came to the palace’s or me gifting him, a lot has been happening behind close doors, the Benin traditional council lied that peller coming to the palace was unauthorized and I brought him to the palace, but I hope I will be able to convince you all that Peller coming to the palace was authorized, look at the stamp on this letter shows that it was approved by Benin traditional council, but they’re all lying on my head, but what I want you to know is that this isn’t the main problem because there are other issues way bigger than what you all thinks.”
