Trump Announces National Fraud Division To Stop Scams Against Americans

President Donald Trump has announced the nomination of federal prosecutor Colin McDonald as the first-ever Assistant Attorney General for National Fraud Enforcement, a newly created division within the U.S. Department of Justice aimed at combating large-scale fraud against the federal government.

Trump disclosed the nomination in a statement on his social media platform, describing the new division as a key pillar of his administration’s effort to crack down on what he called widespread fraud schemes that have cost American taxpayers hundreds of billions of dollars.

“I am pleased to nominate Colin McDonald to serve as the first ever Assistant Attorney General for National Fraud Enforcement, a new Division at the Department of Justice, which I created to catch and stop fraudsters that have been stealing from the American people,” Trump said.

According to Trump, his administration has uncovered major fraud operations in states such as Minnesota and California, where, he alleged, criminals siphoned massive sums from public funds through elaborate schemes.

“My Administration has uncovered fraud schemes in States like Minnesota and California, where these thieves have stolen hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars,” he stated.

Trump described McDonald as a seasoned prosecutor with a strong record in high-profile and complex cases.

“Colin McDonald is a very smart, tough, and highly respected America First federal prosecutor who has successfully delivered justice in some of the most difficult and high-stakes cases our country has ever seen,” Trump said.

He added that McDonald’s appointment would play a central role in strengthening oversight of federal programs and restoring public confidence.

“Together, we will end the fraud and restore integrity to our federal programs,” Trump declared. “Congratulations, Colin—stop the scams!”

The creation of the National Fraud Enforcement Division signals an intensified focus on prosecuting financial crimes involving government funds, including alleged abuse of social programs, procurement fraud and large-scale identity theft.
