The social media community has been thrown into mourning following the death of TikTok content creator Esther Thomas, widely known as Sunshine, after complications arising from a fibroid operation.

Sunshine, who gained popularity for her skits alongside fellow creator Chidera Mmadu, reportedly began experiencing severe stomach pains on December 28, 2025. According to Chidera, she was initially taken to Orchid General Hospital for treatment. However, she was only given pain relief medication, with no further medical intervention.

Sources close to the situation revealed that the family was not informed that doctors at the hospital were on strike at the time. Despite spending several days at the facility, Sunshine’s condition did not improve, and she continued to complain of intense pain. It was only after persistent inquiries that they were told about the ongoing strike.

She was subsequently moved to a private hospital, where medical examinations revealed that she had a significantly enlarged fibroid, identified as the cause of her prolonged abdominal pain. Doctors recommended immediate surgery.

Although the operation was carried out, complications reportedly developed afterward. Sadly, Esther Thomas passed away shortly after the procedure.

Her death has sparked an outpouring of grief from fans and fellow content creators, many of whom have taken to social media to express shock and sadness over the loss of the vibrant young entertainer.

May her soul rest in peace. 🕊️
