Trump slams Prince Harry for ‘betraying’ Queen and says he won’t help the Duke of Sussex with US visa

Former US President Donald Trump said the Royal Family has been “too gracious” to Prince Harry and that he would not protect him like Joe Biden has done.

Trump made the claim at the CPAC conference in Washington DC just hours after Harry appeared in court over whether he had lied on his US immigration papers concerning his drug use.

The legal challenge has been pursued by the Heritage Foundation in Washington DC and resisted by the Prince with the support of Biden’s Department of Homeland Security, something Trump doesn’t agree with.

The former president told the Daily Express US: “I wouldn’t protect him. He betrayed the Queen. That’s unforgivable. He would be on his own if it was down to me.”

He added: “I think they have been too gracious to him after what he has done.”

He claimed Biden’s administration “protected Harry” by keeping his immigration application confidential.

It comes after the Duke of Sussex told Good Morning America on February 16 that he was considering US citizenship. He was talking about the first winter Invictus Games but took the time to shed light on meeting his father after his cancer diagnosis.

When asked about enjoying his time in the US, Harry responded positively to his move away from the UK. Harry said: “It’s amazing. I love every single day.”

The Duke of Sussex was then asked if he feels American after now spending many years across the pond. Harry responded: “No, I don’t know how I feel.”

The question was followed by asking Harry about US citizenship, to which he replied: “I have considered it, yeah.”

Harry was then pressed on what was stopping him and he told Good Morning America that he “does not know”.

The Duke continued: “I am here standing with these guys (Invictus competitors), the American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind but certainly not something that is a high priority for me right now.”
