1. Oil marketers, on Sunday, indicated that the cost of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, would rise to between N680/litre and N720/litre in the coming weeks should the dollar continue to trade from N910 to N950 at the parallel market. They also hinted that dealers seeking to import PMS were being forced to put the plans on hold due to the scarcity of foreign exchange to import the commodity.

2. A 26-year-old man, Franklin Akinyosuyi, who was arrested with a human skull in his apartment in Ondo town, Ondo State, has confessed that he used the skull to bathe for one month. The photographer and boutique owner said a herbalist directed him to bathe with the skull at 1 am every Thursday to boost his business.

3. Gunmen have razed the country home of the traditional ruler of Ndia Iche Arondizuogu community, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Kanu Ikenolu. It was gathered that the development has caused panic in the community as villagers, including the monarch’s family members, fled into bushes.

4. General Abdourahmane Tchiani, leader of the Niger junta, has said the military is ready for dialogue. Speaking during a meeting with Islamic scholars from Nigeria, Tichani was quoted to have said doors were open to explore diplomacy and peace in resolving the matter.

5. Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (formerly Latter Rain Assembly), Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Sunday came hard on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the fuel subsidy removal, describing it as “impulsive”. He said the poor people were being made to suffer for the corruption of a few powerful people.

6. Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State was conspicuously absent when Bello, his eldest son, got married to his second wife, Aisha Habibu Shuaibu, at the weekend. El-Rufai had reportedly jetted out of the country after he pulled out of the ministerial race.

7. The Ekiti State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently declare a state of emergency in the health sector. The union also urged government at all levels to increase budgetary allocation to the sector by 15 per cent in compliance with Abuja Declaration to tackle the challenges plaguing the sector.

8. Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas over the plan to spend N40 billion on 465 exotic and bulletproof cars for members and principal officials, and N70bn as palliatives for new members.

9. Senior Pastor of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare, on Sunday, described the policies of the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government as anti-people. He said the policies have caused much economic hardship on citizens and that the February 25 election showed that Nigerians were tired of the ruling party.

10. Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber, Akeem Owonikoko, 33, along Sagamu – Ijebu Ode – Benin Highway. Police Spokesman, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to newsmen in Abeokuta on Sunday. Odutola explained that the suspect was arrested after a 24-hour operation led by the Area Commander, Ijebu Ode, ACP Omosanyi Adeniyi.
