It was a celebration galore at the 10th anniversary of City of Knowledge Academy, (CKA) Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, as the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun and the stakeholders commended the academy for providing quality education.

The anniversary, which coincided with the school’s Honours Day/Graduation, featured award presentations, school book presentation, traditional dance, orchestral and choir among others.

Governor Abiodun hailed the school for its achievements in the last 10 years.

Represented by Deputy Governor, Mrs Noimot Salako, Abiodun, said the school was noted for providing a world-class education that nurtures tomorrow’s leaders.

He said: “I congratulate everyone present; we are gathered to celebrate not only the achievements of class 2023 but also the remarkable journey of the academy and its founder, our sister and mentor, Dr Mosun Belo-Olusoga.

“Over the last 10 years, CKA has grown to become a good stream of knowledge and a nurturing environment for young minds to flourish; it has provided a world-class education and groomed students with required knowledge, skills and character.”

The founder of CKA, Dr. Mosun Belo-Olusoga, hailed the sponsors, parents and teachers for the efforts and support given to the school.

Belo-Olusoga said: “I thank our sponsors for making the students enjoy the quality education. I’m thankful to our parents because they entrusted their children to us and I am particularly grateful to the teachers. I see them as role models. They are just not here to teach but they are passionate about what they do and care for the students.

“We are grateful to God Almighty; in ten years, we have grown and in another ten years, we will be greater. I’m proud that our students are ambassadors all over the world. Seeing my students graduating all over the world gives me joy.”

The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, represented by Ebumawe of Ago-Iwoye, Oba AbdulRasaq Adenugba, lauded the founder of CKA for the laudable initiative.

“I’m happy with the exceptional performance of the students and I’m proud of the school. I pray the school will continue to grow in leaps and bounds and the graduating students will continue to excel.”

Vice Chancellor of University of Lagos, Prof. Folashade Ogunshola, congratulated the school and the graduands.

She said: “This is truly a gift, I am so proud and honoured to be a part of this wonderful ceremony. I congratulate the students, parents and guardians and all the staff of the academy for the work they have done.

“It is a beautiful moment in their journey. For you students, this is the beginning of an amazing life. When you look at yourselves and your friends, I can assure you that the next phase is about to happen and this is probably the last time that all of you will be together as one. So, take one another’s addresses, phone numbers and take pictures together because this moment will be a moment you will remember for many years.”
