1. ADC endorses Peter Obi for president

The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has endorsed Peter Obi, Labour Party presidential candidate for the Saturday poll. The development is sequel to the formation of a grand coalition, which aims at propelling Obi and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed for the nation’s top job.

2. Ex-presidential candidate drags Buhari to A’Court over 2019 presidential election

A former presidential candidate in the 2019 general election, Chief Ambrose Albert Owuru has dragged President Muhammadu Buhari before the Court of Appeal in Abuja seeking an order of the court to oust Buhari from office and declare him the winner of the 2019 poll. Owuru, who contested the 2019 presidential election on the platform of Hope Democratic Party, HDP, against Buhari is also praying the Appellate Court issue an order stopping all preparations for the conduct of a fresh presidential poll until his suit against the president is fully determined.

3. Naira redesign: No directive to demolish any bank in Kaduna over old notes – Sources

Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Agency (KASUPDA), has denied reports that the state government ordered the demolition of banks that failed to comply with the directive to accept the old N500 and N1,000 from customers in the state. Governor Nasir El-Rufai, had, in a broadcast on Thursday last week asked residents to stay calm and peaceful and support the lawful means being utilised to solve the cash scarcity challenge, assuring they would not lose their money.

4. Relax, we’ve done all we need to do – Tinubu to supporters

All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate , Bola Tinubu has advised his supporters to relax ahead of the February 25 election. The former Governor of Lagos State spoke on Monday at a meeting attended by First Class South West traditional rulers.

5. Naira swap: Malami, Adamu, El-Rufai, two APC governors meet in Abuja

Three governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday met with the Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami and APC, National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, over the Naira swap policy. Newsone Nigeria reports that the meeting, which lasted almost an hour, held at the APC National Secretariat on Monday

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, has disclosed how he stopped former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s third term bid. He disclosed this at an event with the party’s National Assembly candidates on Sunday night in Abuja.

7. Police declare Anambra corps member wanted over alleged impersonation, possession of firearm

The Anambra State Police Command has declared a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Emeh Nnamdi Daniel, wanted. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, who revealed this in a statement, gave Emeh’s age as 26.

8. Court bars INEC from using MC Oluomo for electoral items distribution

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted an order restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, from engaging, using, or further dealing with the chairman of the Lagos Parks and Garages, Musiliu Akinsanya, better known as MC Oluomo, in the distribution of election materials and ad-hoc staff for the forthcoming polls in the state. The injunction was granted by Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke following an application filed by the Labour Party, LP, and its gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

9. FIFA WWC: Super Falcons’ European opponent set up Zambia friendly

The Republic of Ireland will face the Shepolopolo of Zambia in a friendly at the Tallaght Stadium on June 22. It is one of the friendlies lined up for the Girls in Green ahead of their participation at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.

10. 2023: Nobody should annoy me, cast your vote – Falz

Nigerian rapper and activist, Folarin Falana, AKA Falz, has urged the youths to vote in Saturday’s presidential election. Falz in a video on his Instagram page on Sunday, called on Nigerians not to make any excuse for not voting.
