Hours after explaining to his fans the reasons why he started his show late at a cross-over concert in Lagos, Afrobeats singer, Burna Boy drops an important question for Nigerians.

Taking to his Instagram story, the singer who has been touring the world revealed that he is still very much in tune with his motherland after he wished Nigerians a happy new year with a teary emoji, prayed that things get better and proceeded to ask who the best candidate is in the 2023 general election.

Happy New Year!!!  2023, e go better. Who are we voting for?

2023 General Elections

The 2023 general elections have been fixed for 25th February 2023 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to elect the President and Vice President and members of the Senate and House of Representatives.

The election which is fifty-three days away will serve as a game changer for the county depending on who is elected among the president flag bearer of each party.

Burna Boy humiliates his fans

Kemi Filani reported that after fans complained of his late arrival at the Lagos concert for the cross overnight into the new year, Burna Boy humiliated them by cursing them.

Burna Boy declared that he only decided to attend the concert out of goodwill and that he would have gone home if not for pleas from Seyi Vibez.

He accused the concertgoers of labelling him a murderer after a shooting incident between the singer and a newly-wedded couple at Obi Cubana’s club in Lagos last year and for mocking his mother for being Fela Kuti’s dancer before telling them, “I still love you, if you no love me, na God go punish you!”

He added, “Fucking National TV dey talk like. Don’t know what is fucking happening and you all still laughing, not knowing it is serious. This na my life, they fit end my life because of rubbish”.

Burna Boy tenders apology for his late show

Kemi Filani reported that Burna Boy tendered an apology and explained why he was late for the Lagos concert.

The singer who vowed not to perform in Lagos again despite the love from his fans cited technical issues for his delayed performance. He noted that the type of organisational structure and infrastructure he needed wasn’t available. He further revealed plans to build a world-class music infrastructure in Nigeria.
