The Senior Pastor of the Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has encouraged youths to keep fighting to have a better Nigeria.

Adeyemi said this while commemorating with Nigerians one year after the #EndSARS protests ended in a brutal crackdown by security forces.

This was mentioned in a short message via his Twitter account on Wednesday.

He added that the future belongs to every young Nigerian and they should keep it moving to fulfill the dream of a Nigeria without discrimination.

His tweets read, “Dear young Nigerian, we adults will not hold the stage forever. You own the future. Keep moving to fulfill the dream of a Nigeria and Africa that empower all without discrimination, creating political, economic, and cultural development. Your efforts will not be in vain.”

But some of the protesters who trooped out in peaceful demonstration for the EndSARS memorial were earlier arrested at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.

They had gathered in the early hours of Wednesday in Lagos, Abuja and other major cities nationwide, calling for justice for victims of police brutality who were allegedly gunned down on October 20, 2020 during the nationwide EndSars protests.

The police however teargassed and brutalised some of the protesters to disperse them from the toll gate.
