US TV hosts have given details of how one of the Senior Special Assistants to the Ogun state governor, Abidemi Rufai, was arrested for $350, 000 COVID19 unemployment scam.
A statement released by the US Department of Justice alleged that Rufai used multiple email addresses to collect the benefits for unemployed persons in Washington. According to the statement, Rufai routed the money to be deposited in accounts of his relatives in New York as well as in Jamaica. Read initial report here.
The TV hosts also spoke with a man who believes he also fell for the scam Abidemi is alleged to have committed.
