Former Nigeria Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala has congratulated Gilbert Houngbo for his reelection as the President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

Theeditorngr.com understands that Houngbo had confirmed his second term election as the IFAD president in a post on his verified Twitter handle since February 17.

Expressing his gratitude on the micro-blogging platform, Houngbo said his first agenda in office will be the consolidation of the reforms made over the past four years so that IFAD’s trajectory toward doubling its impact by 2030 becomes irreversible.

He tweeted: “I am humbled and honoured to be elected for a second term as IFAD’s president.
