APC Chieftain, Igbokwe Reveals Sponsors Of Terrorism In Nigeria

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has fingered opposition politicians as sponsors of insecurity in Nigeria.

CityNews reports that Igbokwe, in a post on his official Facebook page, claimed that the country’s security crisis is man-made.

He claimed that Nigerian politicians are sponsoring terrorism for their selfish political interests.

According to Igbokwe, when the opposition politicianys lose an election, they instigate violence through uneducated street urchins to create insecurity and score cheap political points.

Igbokwe, however, expressed optimism that those plotting to plunge the nation into chaos will fail.

He wrote, “The so-called insecurity in Nigeria is man made. When hooligans and criminals lose elections, they sponsor uneducated street urchins to go create insecurity to score cheap political points. Evil cannot triumph over good. The will fail”.

Meanwhile, the presidency has stated that the security situation plaguing the country is giving President Bola Tinubu sleepless nights.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (North-West), Abdulillahi Yakassai, disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief.

He stated that the fight against insurgency has become more challenging because insurgents have adopted guerrilla warfare.

According to him, “The security situation in some parts of the country has really been subdued, but there are some elements of new tactics coming up, like the one we see in Kwara State, very unfortunate.

“Even the president is having sleepless nights because every week you see him having a security council meeting in the Presidential Villa to see how to address this insecurity.”
