A businesswoman, Tracy Ohiri, who recently accused Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, of owing her money has now publicly apologized in a new video that surfaced online.
In the video message, Ohiri explained that after consulting with her legal team, family members, and close friends, she decided it was best to give peace a chance and move on from the controversy.
She also addressed one of the most widely circulated claims from the earlier dispute. According to her, she never said that the Minister tied a towel while meeting her in a hotel room, a statement that had generated widespread discussion online.
In her words, she said:
“I never said Engineer David Umahi tied a towel to meet me in a hotel room. I apologize if the allegations have been magnified and taken out of context. My family and I have decided to move on and face our lives and business, and we want everyone to respect this decision.”
The dispute between Ohiri and the Minister had earlier drawn massive attention across social media, with several commentators and influencers reacting to the matter.
