Mr. Joseph Oluwabamiwo Aloba, father of late Mohbad, has petitioned the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro (SAN), demanding the prosecution of Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi Aloba, and the auxiliary nurse, Miss Ogedengbe Fisayo, within 14 days over the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death

Mohbad’s father also called for the prosecution of Ibrahim Owodunni, a.k.a. Prime Boy, alongside others present in the singer’s apartment on the day he died, alleging that they either facilitated the invitation of the unqualified nurse or failed to take him to a proper medical facility in time.

The demand follows the July 11, 2025 verdict of the Coroner, Magistrate Adetayo Shotobi, which indicted the parties for alleged complicity in Mohbad’s death.

Acting through his counsel, Dr. Wahab Shittu (SAN), Mr. Aloba submitted a petition dated October 3, 2025, to the Attorney General’s office at the Ministry of Justice, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja. The petition was titled “Demand for Prosecution of Indicted Persons Pursuant to the Verdict of the Coroner’s Inquest into the Death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba (a.k.a. Mohbad).”

In the petition, Dr. Shittu stressed that if the Attorney General fails to prosecute the indicted persons within the stipulated 14 days, a fiat should be granted to allow his team initiate prosecution in accordance with the provisions of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State.

The petition highlighted the coroner’s findings which indicted:

  • Miss Ogedengbe Fisayo for unlawful medical practice and gross negligence after administering injections without medical diagnosis despite not being a licensed nurse, doctor, or pharmacist.
  • Mrs. Omowunmi Aloba for negligence in allowing an uncertified auxiliary nurse to treat Mohbad at home and failing to insist on emergency services or ambulance care during the crisis.
  • Others present at the apartment, including Prime Boy, for facilitating the nurse’s involvement or failing to secure urgent hospital care for the singer.

Dr. Shittu noted that despite these clear indictments, no prosecutorial steps have been taken since the verdict was delivered. He emphasized excerpts from the judgment where the coroner described Fisayo’s conduct as unlawful medical practice and condemned Omowunmi’s role as negligent, particularly given Mohbad’s status as a public figure.

He urged the Attorney General to act swiftly in the interest of justice, stressing that the matter remains highly sensitive and has generated intense public concern and outrage.
