The Senate has summoned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Ministers of Health and Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ali Pate and Nyesom Wike, respectively, over the death of the one chance victim, Greatness Olorunfemi, at the Maitama General Hospital last Tuesday.
The Editor Nigeria reports that Olorunfemi was a victim of ‘one chance’ criminals who stabbed her and pushed her out of the vehicle she boarded along the Maitama/Kubwa Highway.
She was subsequently rushed to Maitama General Hospital but was turned away for refusing to provide a police report.
Saddened by the development, the Senate, through a motion sponsored by Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong, instructed its committees on health and police to carry out a thorough investigation into Olorunfemi’s death and report back in two weeks’ time.
The senators also insisted that Maitama General Hospital be sued for manslaughter.
