1. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Iyorchia Ayu, will on Monday (today) lead some governors elected on the platform of the party on a protest march to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, headquarters, Abuja, over the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.

2. The scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly called petrol, has again returned to Abuja, Nasarawa, Niger, Kaduna and other states, causing massive queues at the few filling stations that dispensed the product in the affected areas. Some oil marketers said the commodity had been difficult to access, and that many of their trucks had been in queues at depots since October last year.

3. Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, yesterday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government to obey the Supreme Court’s judgment on the validity of the old naira notes. In a statement, Mr Akeredolu said the President should immediately direct Mr Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), to revert to the status quo on the N1000, N500, and N200 old notes.

4. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says political leaders and not farmers should be blamed for Nigeria’s inability to attain self-sufficiency in food production. He said this on Sunday at a lecture organised to mark his 86th birthday in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

5. The State Working Committee (SWC) of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State has declared support for the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Seyi Makinde, in Saturday’s election. The party Chairman, Mr Tunji Sadiq, stated this while addressing journalists yesterday.

6. The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has described the promise by the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, to deliver credible governorship polls on Saturday, as medicine after death.

7. The U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Ambassador Mary Beth Leonard yesterday urged that although the outcome of the February 25 presidential elections failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians, it is best to resolve the conflict in the courtroom.

8. Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has called for the inclusion of Nigeria and the African Union (AU) in G20. Onyeama, who made the call in New Delhi, India, while participating in the first foreign ministers’ meeting, under India’s Presidency of G20, also called for the reformation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

9. Zamfara State Police Command has mourned the death of a Divisional Police Officer in charge of Maru Local Government Area of the state, SP Kazeem Kareem, and Inspector Rabiu Umar killed by gunmen on Saturday. In a statement, the spokesperson for the command, SP Mohammed Shehu, said the Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, prayed Almighty Allah to repose the departed souls

10. A yet-to-be identified police officer with Mopol 8 Jos, Plateau State is reported to have allegedly shot a young man on Sunday. The victim, identified as Nyommena Badapba, a resident at the Tudun Wada community was shot in his shoulder shortly after an argument with the policeman.
