The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has faulted the Department of State Services (DSS) for poor handling of detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu’s case by continuously denying him access to his lawyers, contrary to court orders. It urged the DSS to de-escalate the tension in South East region, by adhering strictly to the rules of engagement and respect decisions of the court since the judicial powers of the Federation was domiciled with the judiciary in line with section 6 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
