The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has assured all stakeholders that its website and all other internet-based services can not be attacked.
This is as the NNPC in a statement on Monday, 19th October while reacting to the purported plans by some group to hack government websites, said members of the public have nothing to be worried about as far as NNPC is concerned.

The statement, made available to Naija News via the NNPC official Twitter handle, reads:  “The attention of @NNPCgroup has been drawn to purported hack of the websites and other internet-based platforms of prominent Federal Government institutions.”
While we confirm that no breach whatsoever has been recorded by the Corporation, we wish to assure all
@NNPCgroup partners and stakeholders of the fidelity of our spamware protections.”

“The #NNPC web-based platforms are adequately protected and members of the public are assured of continued quality services on all our internet channels.”
Meanwhile, a group of people identified as the Anonymous have reportedly hacked the website of the Nigeria Stock Exchange.
The development wouldn’t be the first, as the Anonymous have hacked other important platforms in the country and threatened to do more.
The Anonymous on Monday took over the admin panel as market opened.

The group noted that they support the weak against the powerful and stand for justice.
They listed their values as human rights, autonomy, and self-governance, resistance against tyranny, a more humane society.

Anonymous further stated that their actions are in support of the #EndSARS protests calling for an end to all forms of police brutality in Nigeria.
