By Barrister Douglas Ogbankwa

One aspect that defines the character of the astute politician, lawyer, and administrator, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu (POI), is his remarkably humble demeanor. However, beneath this humility lies the boldness of a lion, fearlessly addressing issues as they arise.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu isn’t a mere contender on WhatsApp for Dennis Osadebey Avenue. His seriousness in the race for Governor is evident in his official aspiration as he secures both his expression of interest and nomination forms from the APC.

In the Channels Television Interview on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, during the program “Politics Today,” Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu presented the facts plainly. He emphasized that one can only be considered an aspirant after obtaining both the expression of interest and nomination forms, as he has done. He dismissed the notion of a screening committee’s authority when people are still purchasing forms. He clarified that, as per the APC Constitution, only the National Working Committee has the power to establish a screening committee, along with an appeals committee. He highlighted that the APC candidate for the Edo 2024 Governorship Elections will be chosen through direct primaries involving all registered members.

He stressed the importance of an opposition party putting its best foot forward, indicating that zoning is not an option in such scenarios, as extra effort is needed to unseat the incumbent. He addressed any perceived differences between him and respected party leader Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, asserting that, in politics, disagreements are normal and a hallmark of democracy.

In the interview, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu exhibited conviction and readiness for the job. His insightful analysis and resonance with the people’s concerns revealed a profound understanding of Edo State and its residents. He shared his comprehensive knowledge of governmental intricacies, culminating in his manifesto, the “Simple Agenda” — a strategic roadmap for propelling Edo State to new heights in development.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerges as the man of the moment, possessing the Midas touch to transform the trajectory of Edo. #Edo2024 #izeiyamuforgovernor #pastorizeiyamu #apc
