Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to sign the 2021 Appropriation Bill into law on Thursday.

Recall that the National Assembly before embarking on holiday had passed the N13.58tn budget for the next fiscal year.
The current government over the years has shared its desire to restore the country’s budget to January to December cycle.

The desire was achieved with the 2020 budget which was signed into law by President Buhari on December 17, 2019.
With the desire of the President to achieve the same this year, he expected to sign the 2021 bill into law on Thursday.

The plan of the President was confirmed by his Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, to Punch.
“All things being equal (and note this), the President will sign the 2021 budget into law on Thursday.
“It is not likely that the plan will change though,” the presidential aide said.

Theeditorngr.com had earlier reported that the National Assembly has transmitted the 2021 Appropriation Bill of N13.5tn to President Muhammadu Buhari.
The development was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matter, Senator Babajide Omoworare
The approved budget figure by the National Assembly comprises total capital supplementation of N1.06tn, total capital expenditure of N4.1tn, statutory transfers of N496bn, and recurrent expenditure of N5.6tn.

The passed budget Bill by the National Assembly also provided the sum of N3.3tn for debt servicing.
The budget estimate was increased by the sum of N505bn from the estimate of N13, 082, 420, 568,233 presented to the National Assembly by Buhari on October 8, 2020.
