Respect Curfew During Cross-over Services – Sanwo-Olu Admonishes Churches

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos has warned churches to respect the 12 am to 4 am curfew imposed by the Federal Government as Crossover Services holds on December 31, 2020.

Theeditorngr.com reports that the governor gave the warning while speaking to newsmen on Thursday at the State House in Marina, Lagos.

Governor Sanwo-Olu asked clerics to ensure their followers observe the protocols put in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 as the country battles the second wave of the pandemic.

The government warned that no church service organized in respect of the new year celebration must exceed 10 pm until further notice.

“On the issue of religious services, note that there is a national curfew in place, and the state is bound by the principles of that curfew.”

“Therefore, churches and mosques are not permitted in line with that curfew to hold any service beyond 10:00 pm,” the statement read in part.
