Nigerian Air Force reveals identities of personnel killed in Niger plane crash

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has disclosed the identities of some of its officers who lost their lives when a helicopter crashed during an evacuation mission in Niger state on August 14, 2023.

The disclosure was made by the Chief Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar during a condolence visit to family members of the deceased in Port Harcourt.

During the visit, the air chief promised that the Nigerian Air Force would support the family left behind by the gallant personnel who paid the supreme price in the service of the nation.

The CAS also visited the NAF unit, commiserating with personnel on the loss and praising them for their commitment and efforts in the ongoing joint military operations in the Niger Delta.

The crew members who lost their lives during the mission include Flight Lieutenant Adamu Ibrahim, Flight Lieutenant Anthony Duryumus, Lance Corporal Alaribe Daniel and Lance Corporal Briggs Stephen Peter.

Two other NAF Regiment personnel, Corporal Jauro Amos and Lance Corporal Abdulrahman Abubakar, two other NAF Regiment personnel also lost their lives as part of the Nigerian Army ground troops who were ambushed and killed by terrorists in Niger State.

The ill-fated aircraft had departed Zungeru Primary School en route Kaduna State but was later discovered to have crashed near Chukuba Village in Niger state.
