BREAKING: Siminialayi Fubara declared winner of Rivers governorship election

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Siminialayi Fubara, has been declared the winner of the Rivers State governorship election.
The State Returning Officer, Professor Akpofure Rim-Rukeh, announced the result late Monday night.
This follows a two-day collation which took place at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Port Harcourt.
Fubara garnered 302,614 votes to see off Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 95,274 votes.
The candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Magnus Abe, and Beatrice Itubo of the Labour Party (LP) finished with 46,981 and 22,224 votes respectively.
A total of 496,852 voters were accredited out of the 3,537,190 registered voters in the State.
Of the 494,604 total votes cast, a total of 483,934 were valid while 10, 670 were rejected votes.
