Kanu has reacted to Igbo nation leaders’ visit to Buhari.
Prince Emmanuel Kanu, a junior brother to Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has weighed in on a visit by Igbo leaders to President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
Kanu, in a statement shortly after the meeting, called on President Buhari to listen to the pleas of the Igbo leaders who requested for the release of the older Kanu.
Recall that the Editor Nigeria earlier reported that a group under the aegis of Highly Respected Igbo Greats, led by First Republic parliamentarian and Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi, had visited Buhari on Friday and demanded the release of the IPOB leader.
Prince Kanu called on the President to consider the request by the eminent Igbo elders as a mark of respect for the Igbo nation.
He said that one of the ways to kick-start the process of national healing is the unconditional release of Kanu.
He expressed hope that Buhari would give urgent attention to the pleas of the elders.
