48 hours after surviving an onslaught that left 15 of his security details dead, the convoy of Borno governor, Babagana Zulum, was again attacked by Boko Haram insurgents.
The Editor Nigeria had reported how the insurgents Zulum’s convoy on Friday.
Many security operatives lost their lives in the ambush after the insurgents opened fire on the governor’s convoy and other vehicles transporting government officials to Baga, a town in the state, for the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
The Sunday attack, which, reportedly leaves one of the soldiers attached to the convoy injured, happened along Baga-Kukawa axis of Borno.
A source said troops of the Nigerian air force were deployed immediately to the flash point and were able to thwart the insurgents’ attack.
