Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has issued a strong warning to Nigerians over emerging reports about fears that insecurity may not allow elections to hold in some states during the 2023 polls.

This comes amidst reports that Governors have warned President Muhammadu Buhari that elections may not hold in some northwest states due to the security challenges in the zone.

The Governors are understood to have raised the alarm in a security/policy brief to the President in July 2022 as part of the political economy situation review.

President Buhari was charged by the Governors to establish military bases in Birnin Gwari, Rijana, Kachia and Mararraban Jos in Kaduna state and Kontagora and Gwada in Niger state.

Hours after the report leaked to the media, Sani took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Wednesday stating that results will be written to fill the vacuum in places action elections can’t hold due to insecurity.
