2023 Elections: Labour Party Confirms Peter Obi As Member

The opposition Labour Party has confirmed a former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi has joined the party.

Naija News reports that this development comes two days after Obi resigned his membership from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a tweet via its Twitter handle on Friday, the party said the presidential aspirant registered as a member and officially joined its fold on Friday in his ward in Anambra State.

The party disclosed that Obi is expected to pick the presidential form and contest the party’s presidential primary election fixed for next week Tuesday in Abuja.

The tweet reads: “As earlier reported, H.E Peter Obi Joins Labour Party of Nigeria, @PeterObi registered as a member of the party on Friday in his ward in Anambra State.

“He is expected to pick the presidential form and contest the party’s presidential primary election next Tuesday.”
